Amazing fiction Best Dredd Ever

This is not only the best Dredd story, it's arguably the best graphic novel, and I feel is one of the finest works of fiction. The art is incredible and as a whole it's a great allegory to the dissollusionment of the American dream. It works well as an introduction to the Judge Dredd universe, as it is told from the perspective of Beeny, a man trying to come to terms with loving, being scorned by, and betraying the only woman he could ever love, America. The story recounts their lives from early childhood, and how their lives drifted apart because of America's spirited rightgeousness, ultimately railroading her on a collision course with the law. This is a beautiful and tragic story, but make no mistake; This is as gritty and twisted as these Dredd tales get. I personally prefer this version over "The Complete America" The other version includes an additional story with many of the same characters, which is even more twisted, but lacks the poetry, heart, and artistry of the original. It's a worthwhile Dredd story, but "America" stands best on it's own. And deserves contemplation afterward, not a turn of page to the next story.

Fantastic! If you love great stories that are truely gritty and emotionally challenging, pick it up right away

I got into Judge Dredd weeks before reading this. I did not know it was considered by many to be the best Dredd storyline ever. But I now understand why people feel that way. It is incredible! Edgy, hardcore, exciting! It sucks you in and doesn't let you go.
Great Dredd comic, great comic overall. It is now one of my favorite.

Timely look at balancing law enforcement and liberty

Probably the best Dredd story ever written, and as a standalone sci fi story (Judge Dredd aside) it's one of the top GN you can find! It's the story about the complicated balance between law enforcement and personal liberty. Powerful, gripping story with great art. Ambiguous enough to fuel much meditation on the themes well after its read. A must own graphic novel, and THE must own Dredd book.
