Very interesting and complete book

This is a very well written book about phisiology of tendon-muscle unit. The languige used is technical but easy to understand. Very usefull for the therapist who wants to know the ultimate research in muscle phisiology and training. The new chapter on spasticity is very interesting and a good point of starting for new approaches to the emiplegic patient.

One heavy-duty muscle tome

Not for the faint of heart, but well-written and systematic. Muscle histology is tough to visualize 3D, but Lieber makes it as clear as possible. His tone throughout is just light enough to keep you engaged; he throws a huge amount of info at you, so good to be on your toes.
Good luck exercise physiologists - and Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

A book that makes you love muscle, too

It's rare to find a textbook that's truly enjoyable to read, but this one fits the bill. A big part of that is the author's obvious love of the subject and desire to make the reader understand the topic. He's writing to get you interested in and excited about muscle. When I was considering moving into muscle physiology as a research area, I picked this up to learn a little about what I was getting myself into. By the end of the book, I was convinced that muscle was the right research topic for me.
